Some decorative bird cages are fine for use as a home for your birds, but some of them, depending on size and materials of the case is design of some of the determinants of how you can use. Antique bird cages are very dangerous to live birds. Most of these were treated with different types of paints or finishes that have toxic chemicals in them. Lead and zinc are the most common chemicals found. No there are a lot of scraping, sanding or paint removal may make the safety cage for your bird.
