Parrot Family

All parrots, parrots or any races that are members of the Order Psittaciformes science. That scientific order have been subdivided in two different families of parrots, Cockatoo and Psittacidae.

The family includes only the cockatoo Cockatoo, a bird that is native to Australia and islands near that continent.

The family of parrots second, the Psittacidae, includes all types of real parrot.

Cockatoos

For most people, the white cockatoo is a parrot with a crest of feathers that can lift his head high royal splendor. This is, however, only one type of parrots in this family. There are 21 cockatoos different and not everyone is white.

1. The palm cockatoo is mostly dark gray, with red cheek patches under the eyes - cheek patches that the change to a darker red when the bird is excited or alarmed.

True parrots

This family includes all other types commonly known parrot. The list that follows is not intended to be exhaustive, but in this family are the types of parrots like the following:

1. African Gray: It is said to be the smartest of all types of parrots. A large gray parrot with a red tail, some of these birds have vocabularies approaching 1,000 words or more.

2. Amazon: This popular type of parrot includes about 27 subtypes. Most are large, loving, and predominantly green.

3. Parakeets: Known formally as a parrot or parakeet, this type of parrot is small and colorful. One of the most popular pet parrots.

4. Conures: This type of parrot seems to be a group of large parrots. With long tails and strong peaks, these "clowns" come in a variety of colors.

5. Eclectus: Eclectus parrots are unusual in their coloring. On the one hand, males are bright green, with peaks such as maize sweet brilliant, tails and wings in blue or red. Women, on the other hand, have a red head, blue chest, and wings same color red or blue and queues. Instead of looking sweet corn with black bill.

Best Parrot types of animals for children

A final question is: "What types of parrots that have to make quality child pets? "

Many children are attracted to large parrots because of their color or reputation to speak well, but the parrot types are not good pets for children. They require a strong management and training, and do well as pets when the owner has had the first experience with small parrots.

The best type of pet parrot for a child is the Budgerigar, Budgie alias or parakeet. Parrots small requires the least amount of attention and is easily trained to speak and do tricks. Parakeets are young, or those without cage mate, will learn more easily.
