The electronic book reader should be considered the wave of the future and the Kindle 2 is an exception. Basic features include an e-ink display with 16 shades gray, 6 different type sizes (good bye reading glasses!) and a lightweight 10 oz. (no more hand cramping for arthritic hands, fingers and wrists!).

2 The Kindle electronic book reader can store up to 1,500 medium-sized books and uses wireless technology to connect to the Internet to download the book and access to Wikipedia. There is no monthly fee for wireless access or any other rate of the cost of the Kindle 2, and each book. As a matter of fact, most Kindle books are priced at around $ 9.99, which is about $ 4/book cheaper than Sony's DRM version, on average.

The Kindle 2 also includes the ability to text to speech for those times when you need to hands to anything. I see this feature as a great help in the kitchen when preparing the ingredients, while the Kindle 2 reads the recipe for you!

Besides books, you can also download newspapers, magazines and some 1000 blogs. An average book, they say, takes about 60 seconds to download to your speed. There are 230,000 titles available for download at Amazon's Kindle Store, with more being added every day.

While Sony offers a very similar product, the Kindle electronic book reader 2 offers more options at a much best. The advantage to downloading books without a computer, and shippers (USB and wall charger) access to Wikipedia and the newspaper and magazine downloads and the price of individual books is only part of a lead over Sony's version.

The one and only downfall of the Kindle 2 e-book reader is that it is the lack of an LED light for reading at night. However, this omission by Amazon can be easily overcome by purchasing a light clip of $ 15.

In general, the Kindle 2 is a clear leader in the genre of electronic book reader. We hope to go fast!
